This document and its policies, herein referred to as the "POLICY", or "POLICIES", are for the purpose of protecting the privacy of Patrick Russell McElhiney, herein referred to as the "STUDENT". Throughout this document, you may see the words "WE" or "US" used to refer to MCE123 Legal Department, a legal entity that may represent the interests of the Student in a professional capacity, which is also responsible for posting and updating this legal document. These Policies may be updated from time to time. The Student is not required to post the Policies on www.patrickmcelhiney.com, herein referred to as "THIS WEBSITE", however we have for the purpose of informing its viewers of the Student's rights under Federal Law. The location of this document, with respect to the Uniform Resource Locator ("URL"), and the menu options to access this document, may change on this website, and it is the responsibility of the viewer to locate the updated document. If the document is ever removed or is inaccessible, it is still the responsibility of the public to abide by FERPA standards.
Intellectual Property Policy:
All academic works of the Student, whether from the past, present, or the future, are the intellectual property of the Student and are usually not for consideration of public consumption as they are aimed at the development of intellectual capacity of the Student for the purpose of improving the outcome of the Student's professional career. The posting of academic intellectual property on this website that was produced by the Student may be for the purpose of advertising professional abilities or experience to potential employers, or for other select purposes that we deem acceptable while upholding the rights of the Student under FERPA.
Limitations to Conflicts of Interest:
The Student has never engaged in any risky behavior, such as going on a date, or engaging in any type of activity that would suggest interest in a personal relationship with any fellow student, as long as the personal relationship didn't exist prior to either the Student's or the fellow student's admission to the institution (whichever occurred last), or the completion of the specific program of study by the Student or the fellow student. The purpose for this policy engaged by the Student, is that the professional environment is never considered a place to develop personal relationships alongside professional responsibilities, due to the risk of conflicts of interest. The Student takes their academia, in addition to their career very seriously, and has never violated this policy.
Communications between the Student and fellow colleagues usually are strictly pertaining to the work that has been assigned by the facilitator of the class, and thus they don't stray into personal discussions, which may give off the impression that the Student is quiet or introverted, while neither are the case. The Student also represents the business community, and the professional organizations to which he is a member of, and therefore the motive behind academia is the same as business - professional success. The Student may become uncomfortable around others when fellow colleagues discuss details of their personal lives that do not pertain to the professional nature of the curriculum.
Colleagues should never conduct activities that are contrary to the security of the Student, such as hacking, extortion, any other illegal activities, or the dissemination of information from school that could aide in third parties obtaining information that may help them conduct such activities. Fellow students shall never report characteristics of the Student or their academic performance to the Media, or the Press, without prior authorization.
Apply Useful Consideration:
Individuals, such as the Student, that don't have personal, romantic lives, may have more free time to spend working on academic projects and other types of intellectual activities. This should not cause animosity or resentment from colleagues that discriminate against the Student's rights protected under the U.S. Constitution.
