Barrington, NH (2007-current)

Patrick R. McElhiney currently lives in Barrington, NH with his mother, Diane Labrie on Nuthatch Loop. Their street address used to be 42, however it changed to 84 because of the 911 system after the housing community, Pepperidge Woods Cooperative, was built. Patrick doesn't have many friends or family in the small town. One of Patrick's friends named Andre Bintoro, who attended the University of New Hampshire (at Manchester campus) with him, lives across the street. Patrick's second cousin, Elaine Howard, also lives across the street. Patrick and his mother visit them for occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas usually. Elaine and her husband Nick have a daughter named Cadence, who is currently in High School. They're building a new house, and will be moving away soon. It's amazing how little Patrick sees of his friends and family, because everyone works and/or goes to school.

Patrick knows some of the locals, but there isn't much to do in Barrington, other than go and buy groceries at Market Basket - which is actually located in the shopping center in the neighboring town of Lee, NH, which is about 4 miles away from Patrick's home. There's a place to get your hair cut called A Nu Du, and there's a separate place to get your nails done. There's a Postal Center USA as well. There used to be a Radio Shack, but it went out of business. There are a few other stores and restaurants, such as a McDonald's, although Patrick and his mother believe that the particular McDonald's doesn't have its act together, as it constantly makes mistakes on their orders. There's a Moe's sandwich shop, a gas station, and a Wendy's that doesn't cook their chicken nuggets long enough, which has made Patrick sick several times.

There are many churches in Barrington, while Patrick doesn't frequent them, as he primarily practices his religion at home. There's a branch office for Patrick's bank in town. Most of Patrick's banking is electronic, so he doesn't go there a lot unless it's with his mother. There are a couple of pet stores, but Patrick doesn't have any interest in pets right now. He'd like to have a puppy, or a cat someday, but they require lots of care and time that Patrick generally doesn't have. You can get a good pizza from 3 or 4 different places in Barrington, including two Italian restaurants. Patrick's favorite restaurant is the Frank Jones pub, although Patrick doesn't drink anymore. He just likes their food because it's good. There's also Calef's Old Fashioned Country store, which sells all kinds of homemade stuff made all over New England, like food and trinkets. They sell a good root beer that Patrick likes.

Patrick and his mother both wish there was a Taco Bell in town. There's one in Epping (20 miles away), and there's also one in Dover (25 miles away). If you visit Barrington, you definitely want to drive the speed limit. It's pretty well enforced. There's a place to buy fresh homemade maple syrup. There's also a single stream recycling center. There's a post office, which is separate from Postal Center USA. There's also a local movie theater named Barn Z's.

Patrick has been attending college at the University of New Hampshire, located in Durham (8 miles away) and Manchester (40 miles away), for several years. He is currently working on a Doctor's of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at the Durham campus. He graduated from the Manchester campus in 2018 with a M.S. Information Technology degree. Patrick has big goals for his career in the future. He wants to be a politician later on in life, after he's had a successfully rewarding career in Artificial Intelligence Software Development. He is even considering working on a M.S. in Political Science, or some other degree related to Politics or Public Service after he raises enough money from his software development career.

Most of Patrick's work is conducted through his company, MCE123, which isn't public, at least yet. For this reason, he spends a lot of time studying things that pertain to his future careers, and he doesn't trust very many people in general. He seeks to serve people, but he doesn't like to open up his personal life to others, generally at all. Patrick is a highly professional person, and he stays in contact with elected officials and their staff more often than never, especially if they are Democrats.

An example of Patrick's lack of progress towards developing a social life is how he treats everyone with interdependence. An example is the fact that he met a woman who works at a local pharmacy that has the same birthday as him, and although he found this interesting, he didn't find this a reason to socialize. Usually, this would be a fact to develop a friendship. Patrick essentially lives in his own little world that consists of his private work with his company on his computers and his private company, and he doesn't do much otherwise. Patrick has the money to have a social life - he chooses not to, particularly because he maintains a highly political life. Perhaps someday Patrick will be able to trust other people, but for now he is focused primarily on improving himself, his education, and his private company.
