Patrick R. McElhiney believes that our anti-terrorism efforts around the world are still too lax, such as U.S. relations with the United Kingdom, which recently allowed a convicted terrorist out of prison after three years - just half of his original sentence, according to FOX News. We need to be listening to what terrorists are trying to plan, and thwart their plans and put them in prison so they can't cause future harm towards the United States. Instead, foreign nations are becoming hot beds for terrorism that is still targeting the west, and we need to be doing more to prevent attacks. We can't just rely on a border wall to keep terrorism out of the United States - it's in the Media, and it's happening around the world. We need to be more proactive about fighting terrorism cells in other nations, so they aren't able to build up resources that can then be used to target the United States.

We should also think about declaring hacking groups around the world, such as those in China and Russia, as terrorism cells, because in the definition of terrorism, that is exactly what the hackers are doing - targeting soft targets such as banks, and elections around the world. We should be labeling those groups as terrorists because then their home nations will be forced to turn them over to us, or prosecute them themselves. We should also be establishing more listening stations around the world for the National Security Agency to stove pipe information to the Central Intelligence Agency about potential terrorists, before they are able to build up resources, so that foreign operatives can act as law enforcement to stop the would-be terrorists before they get started.
